  5.     Andrew Campbell is no stranger to Amoszine readers with lots of
  6.     his work appearing in the mag every issue.  Apart from writing
  7.     damn fine games, it also appears he is quite a novellist.  So
  8.     I've decided to turn literary critic this issue and review Dark
  9.     Portal 2, which contains a nasty selection of short horror
  10.     stories.  It has to be said right from the outset that if you're
  11.     the sort of person who objects to violence, sex and swearing
  12.     then this collection is most definitely not recommended.  Those
  13.     who want to be truly frightened may just enjoy this.

  15.     The disk contains short stories from a variety of authors with
  16.     Andrew Campbell being the main author.  The presentation for
  17.     Dark Portal is top-notch.  Upon loading, a mysterious eye
  18.     appears which winks at you, nasty.  Afterwards, a spooky tune
  19.     begins to play which was written by none other than Mike Richmond.
  20.     Mike does get around a bit doesn't he!  The stories are many and
  21.     varied but it also has to be said that you must have an open
  22.     mind.  Some of the stories are truly horrific and I really
  23.     wouldn't recommend parents buying this disk for their children.
  24.     The front-end is rather like the one used for Amoszine.  Two
  25.     arrows move you through the text, a music icon toggles the music,
  26.     a 'goto-menu' icon takes you to the main menu (funnily enough)
  27.     and a quit icon lets you, well, quit.  There's not much else I
  28.     can say about Dark Portal, either you'll like it or you won't.
  29.     The reason why Dark Portal doesn't get a rating is because you
  30.     just can't give a rating to this sort of thing.  If you like
  31.     horror, then you'll love this.  The only question that remains
  32.     is whether Andrew is the next Steven King, for his stories are
  33.     certainly good enough.  Worth checking out.
